Essential Oils Q&A's

Quite often we are asked to answer reader questions that come into spiritual magazines so we thought we would compile the most recent questions to share with you all!

Q I often get tension headaches in the afternoon and am looking to make some blends to relieve them. Which ones do I pick and how and where can I use them as pain relief?
Tabitha, Derby

A - Headaches are a nuisance and can often make doing just regular daily activities a real chore. We would recommend a combination of Peppermint and Lavender Essential Oils, combined in a light grapeseed carrier oil. Studies have shown that Peppermint Oil can relax the mind and reduce nausea and Lavender has long been used as a calming essential oil in holistic treatment of migraines. When applying to the skin, ensure you always dilute using a carrier oil and apply either directly to the temple or on the palms and wrists. Another great way to kick the troublesome pain is to add some drops of the oils to a relaxing bath of an evening. A Headache Relief Essential Oils pack is available here

Q What ultra feminine oils can I drop into my bath to invigorate my senses and help me feel sensual and relaxed?
Eva, Buckinghamshire

A - Bathtime can be a great way of connecting to your feminine side. There’s nothing better than lighting some candles, putting on some relaxing music, firing up some incense and using some amazing essential oils as a way to relax, unwind and to get yourself in the mood. Ylang Ylang is a lovely oil to use as it calms anxiety and releases inhibitions. Ginger Essential Oil is a great oil to connect to your sensual side with its musky, earthy aroma. This oil also has the added benefit of building confidence and courage too, ensuring that your femininity is fully charged. Just use a few drops of each in the bath and you will feel refreshed and relaxed with a heightened sensuality

Q My son gets quite anxious and I want to give him essential oils as a tool to help him keep calm and remain centred. Which ones would you recommend we order and how can he use them at school?
Alice, Portsmouth

A - Being a kid can be stressful with the pressure of school and daily life proving difficult to handle. Essential Oils are great for helping reduce those nervous moments and are a great natural way to reduce anxiety. Several oils are known to help in these instances, and we would recommend either Rose, Ylang Ylang, Chamomile, Lavender or Frankincense, or combining them to create a blend. Using them at school can be challenging, as lots of essential oil diffuser wearables are considered jewellery and are not allowed to be worn during school. A good way around this is to use a tissue and drip the oils onto them in the morning. That way your son can keep the tissue in his pocket and be able to use it as and when needed. Our Anxiety Essential Oils Pack contains these oils
